Our Story
Donald’s Machine Works Ltd is a family-run business founded in 1981. But the full story of this company dates all the way back to the 1940s and extends across three generations of the Donald family.
Their passion for metalwork began with the current owner’s grandfather, Edward Donald, who was a machinist and a welder. His love for the trade was relayed to his son, Doug Donald, who followed in his footsteps and became a tool and die machinist. Doug established Donald’s Machine Works Ltd in its current location in Vernon, continuing his father’s metalworking legacy.
In 2000, he passed the torch to the third generation of Donald, his son Shawn, who’s been involved in the family business since an early age. The latter currently runs the company with Andrew Blake-Knox, his trusted partner who also has a wealth of experience in steel fabrication.
Great Service Starts with Great People
The company now boasts a team of 23 full-time employees with 5 staff in the office, and is consistently expanding to meet growing demands. Since its foundation, Donald’s Machine Works Ltd is proud to establish itself as the reference in metalwork in Vernon and surrounding areas.
